Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted the government’s “Double Your Business” program, an initiative launched in partnership with the banking sector to help micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as farmers, invest, modernize, and expand their operations.
Rama said the program creates new financing opportunities by offering preferential interest rates and a Sovereign Guarantee.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries can receive a Sovereign Guarantee covering up to 70% of the loan value, preferential interest rates of 2–3%, financing of up to 200 million lek (€2 million) per applicant, and expert support to prepare business plans.
Moreover, applicants can use the financing to invest in technology, equipment, manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, and other business development projects.
Businesses can also finance new equipment, expand production capacity, introduce advanced technologies, or automate their operations.
With repayment terms of up to 10 years and preferential interest rates of 2–3%, the “Double Your Business” program will remain open for applications until November 20, 2027.
