Edi Rama highlighted several strategic investments in the Elbasan County, with a special focus on Corridor VIII.
Speaking at a meeting of the Socialist Party assembly in Elbasan, Rama said the region holds a strategic geographic position because of major infrastructure projects.
He stressed that the European Union officially recognized Corridor VIII as a European corridor after years of negotiations. According to Rama, this recognition helped Albania secure funding for railway construction and other transport projects linked to the corridor.
Rama also pointed to investments in the Elbasan bypass. He said the road collapse in one section resulted from geological causes and not from problems with the project itself.
The prime minister rejected accusations of corruption. He argued that economic growth, higher state revenues, increased salaries, and pension growth prove the opposite.
Edi Rama also highlighted digital public services. He said Albanians can now access most state documents online without facing the bureaucratic delays and bribery practices of the past.
