Rama: Eni Agreement Will Strengthen Energy Security and Create a New Market Operator

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that Albania has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Italian energy company Eni S.p.A. The agreement aims to strengthen the country’s energy security.

The partnership will help create a national strategic reserve for oil and gas supply and storage. It comes as global energy crises have highlighted the need for more secure energy systems.

Furthermore, Rama said the agreement will also support the creation of a new operator in the Albanian energy market. The new operator will benefit from Eni’s international expertise and technical knowledge.

In addition, he described the partnership as a long-term investment. He said it will improve energy security while bringing valuable experience and know-how to Albania’s hydrocarbon sector.

Finally, Rama stressed that the agreement is more than a simple memorandum. He said it is a strategic step that will help Albania face increasingly complex energy challenges in the years ahead.
