Rama: Family Business Becomes Success Story with 80 Employees and 4,000 Daily Customers

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the “Alegria” enterprise in Gjirokastër. He described it as a strong example of Albanian family business success and the potential of “Made in Albania” products abroad.

He said the company has multiplied its exports tenfold in recent years. It has expanded into markets such as the United States, Canada, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. It has also grown in Eastern markets where demand for traditional Albanian products is rising.

He said the business started as a small family factory. It has now transformed through investment in technology and innovation.

The company introduced modern production standards. It also developed new packaging formats called “kampet,” which are not yet present in regional markets.

The production remains rooted in tradition. It includes products such as jufka, traditional pasta sheets, and trahana. At the same time, the company has added automated production lines for new products, including caramelized popcorn.

It sources much of its raw material from local farmers. As a result, it supports the local economy in Gjirokastër.

The company now employs more than 80 workers. It serves over 4,000 customers per day. It has become one of the most important employers in the area.

Rama praised such enterprises. He said they promote Albanian products and strengthen the national economy. He also stressed the importance of supporting innovation and exports in the coming years.
