Prime Minister Edi Rama said that most Albanians support the Zvërnec investment project. He also warned that many fake videos are circulating on social media.
Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) forum in Rome, Rama addressed concerns about the project and public reactions.
He said the majority of Albanians welcome the investment because they see it as an opportunity for economic growth and development. However, he noted that misleading information continues to spread online.
Furthermore, Rama stressed that social media platforms often amplify false content. According to him, many videos and claims about the project do not reflect reality.
He also underlined that the project has not yet received final approval. Environmental impact assessments are still underway, and no construction permit has been issued.
Meanwhile, Rama said the project aims to balance economic development with environmental protection. He added that leading architects, landscape designers, and water-management experts are involved in the planning process.
In addition, the Prime Minister welcomed public engagement on environmental issues. He described protests focused on nature protection as a positive sign of civic awareness.
Finally, Rama expressed confidence that the project will improve local infrastructure, create jobs, and bring long-term benefits while preserving the natural environment.
