Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted to reports from Greek media about developments in Zvërnec. He shared comments from the head of the Albanian diaspora in Greece, Edmond Guri.
Rama said Greek media attention has increased significantly. He added that he has not seen such a reaction in 35 years.
Meanwhile, he said Albania is moving toward a major tourism transformation. He described the plan as an “Olympus of tourism” project.
He said the project involves 4 billion euros in foreign investment from American and Qatari partners. It aims to develop high-end tourism infrastructure.
In addition, he said the project will create thousands of jobs. It will also raise GDP and improve income levels.
He added that wages and pensions will increase as a result of economic growth. He also said local sectors like agriculture, fishing, and transport will benefit.
At the same time, he criticized negative portrayals of Albania in foreign media. He said some narratives still link the country to corruption and crime.
He stressed that Albania is changing its international image. He said the country is positioning itself as a competitive tourism destination.
