Rama reiterates call for dialogue: You are welcome, whenever and wherever you want, without conditions. We are ready!

Prime Minister Edi Rama has renewed his call for dialogue with protesters, urging them to distance themselves from acts of violence, stone-throwing and arson attacks against institutions.

Rama stressed that the government is ready to hold talks at any time and without preconditions, while calling on protest organisers to set an example through dialogue and support peaceful demonstrations.

He also warned of the risk of further escalation, emphasising that protecting people’s lives, citizens’ dignity and the country’s security must remain a priority.

Full statement:

“Be the first to set an example of dialogue, and as far as the government is concerned, we will be there.

In the meantime, clearly distance yourselves from violence, stone-throwing, the setting of fires at institutions and the exploitation of minors, so that you can also help peaceful protesters exercise their rights, which are not threatened by the police, but by the violent individuals leading this pseudo-student masquerade.

And yes, let us all respect the right to peaceful protest.

Let us all work together to protect the life and dignity of every person.

No life should be put at risk, and no games should be played with the future of the country.

You are welcome. DIALOGUE. Wherever you want. Whenever you want. Without conditions.”
