Rama: Socialist Party Moves Albania Closer to EU on 35th Anniversary

Prime Minister and Socialist Party leader Edi Rama joined the Socialist Party’s 35th anniversary celebration in Korça on Wednesday.

He highlighted Albania’s latest step toward European Union membership after the recent intergovernmental conference with the EU. Rama said the Socialist Party moved Albania one step higher on its path to the European Union.

He called EU membership a national goal and a duty to future generations. Rama said Albania now stands in a new phase of negotiations.

The country has opened all negotiation chapters and has started closing them.

He said the Socialist Party has strengthened Albania’s image and raised the country’s profile abroad.

Rama also addressed political opponents.

“They can say what they want. We say what we do, and we do what we say,” he said.
