Prime Minister Edi Rama assured residents of Theth that the area will develop through quality projects, while authorities have legalized all existing buildings.
During a meeting with residents about the Mountain Package, Rama explained the government’s actions regarding the demolition of illegal constructions in Theth several months ago.
He said illegal construction increased after his visit to the area, as some people built new structures expecting future legalization.
Rama said these illegal developments damaged Theth’s most valuable areas and threatened the village’s global image.
He highlighted the importance of protecting the iconic landscape around the church and the green meadow, which represent one of Theth’s main attractions for visitors.
Rama recalled that, in previous years, Theth lacked proper roads, electricity and communication services, leaving residents isolated during the winter.
He praised the people who stayed in Theth and invested in the area despite difficult conditions, describing them as pioneers of the village’s development.
The Prime Minister said Theth will now enter a new phase of development through high-quality projects, including those supported by the Mountain Package and its 11 current applicants.
