Tirana International Airport ranked first among airports in the region in terms of passenger numbers during the first six months of 2026, recording more than 6 million travelers.
The figures were published by Prime Minister Edi Rama through a chart shared on his Facebook page. According to the data he published, Tirana Airport recorded a 17% increase in passenger numbers compared with the same period in 2025.
In the ranking of Balkan airports, Tirana is followed by Belgrade with 4.2 million passengers, Zagreb with 2.2 million, and Pristina with 2.1 million.
Next in the ranking are Skopje with 1.8 million passengers, Split with 1.3 million, Dubrovnik with 1.2 million, and Podgorica with 900,000 passengers. Sarajevo and Ljubljana each recorded around 800,000 passengers.
“Tirana International Airport leads the region’s airports in passenger numbers during the first six months of 2026. Six million passengers in just six months, an increase of 17% compared with the same period in 2025,” Rama wrote in his post.
