“Sacro e Profano”: Kavaja agritourism blends Albanian tradition with Italian cuisine

Albanian tradition and Italian culinary expertise come together at “Sacro e Profano,” a new agritourism destination in Kavaja. The destination combines gastronomy, hospitality, and local products. It also promotes rural tourism and Albanian produce.

Prime Minister Edi Rama recently highlighted “Sacro e Profano” in Kavaja through a social media post. Xhovani Ziu created the business after returning to Albania following several years of experience in Italy.

Rama described the agritourism as a strong example of Albanian tradition meeting Italian culinary expertise. He said the concept offers a distinctive experience for both local and international visitors.

“Sacro e Profano” features eight rooms and uses fresh products from local farmers. It also works with Albanian wineries to offer visitors a unique food and hospitality experience.

The destination continues to attract more foreign tourists. It also supports rural tourism and promotes Albanian products.

Visitors can enjoy local produce and dishes inspired by different culinary traditions. The concept brings together accommodation, gastronomy, and rural experiences.

In recent years, Albanian professionals with international experience have increasingly returned home and invested in agritourism. These businesses create new opportunities for local economies and help promote Albanian products.

Kavaja benefits from its location near the coast and rural areas. The city continues to expand its tourism offer beyond traditional beach tourism.

New agritourism destinations now combine accommodation, gastronomy, local production, and authentic rural experiences.
