Interest in swimming remains high among children in Saranda. Around 60 children of different age groups currently train with the city’s swimming team, according to coach Edmond Vasi.
Vasi said children’s participation supports physical development, discipline and self-confidence. He said the team includes children aged 14 and under, including 12 and 13 year-olds, as well as 10 and 8 year-olds.
Meanwhile, the Saranda team has developed new young talent and represented the city in various competitions. Vasi said the children’s main motivation comes from their passion for the sport. He said the team won around 8 medals at its last two events in the national championships for children, youth and adults.
Swimming is becoming one of the most popular sports among children in Saranda. The growing interest is also creating opportunities for young talent to develop and achieve better results in the future.
