The Council of Ministers has approved changes that add new priority areas for developing the mountain economy in Shijak.
The government introduced the changes under Law No. 20/2025, known as the “Mountain Package”. The Minister of State for Local Government proposed the amendments.
Under the decision, authorities have revised the boundaries of Zone No. 18 in Eminas i Vogël village, within the Gjepalaj administrative unit. The zone now covers 46 hectares.
Meanwhile, the government has added 11 new priority zones. Together, they cover 427 hectares.
The new zones include:
- Zone No. 21 – Likesh village, 101 ha
- Zone No. 22 – Hardhishtë village, 19 ha
- Zone No. 23 – Eminas i Vogël village, 37 ha
- Zone No. 24 – Likesh village, 17 ha
- Zone No. 25 – Shetël village, 53 ha
- Zone No. 26 – Metallë village, 29 ha
- Zone No. 27 – Vlashaj village, 6 ha
- Zone No. 28 – Bodinak village, 83 ha
- Zone No. 29 – Karreç village, 10 ha
- Zone No. 30 – Rreth village, 52 ha
- Zone No. 31 – Pjezë village, 20 ha
All 11 zones lie within the Gjepalaj, Maminas and Xhafzotaj administrative units in Shijak Municipality, Durrës County.
In addition, the decision requires authorities to add maps for Zones No. 21 to No. 31. The maps will follow the KRGJSH system. They will become part of the official decision.
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the State Cadastre Agency and Shijak Municipality will implement the decision.
The decision will take effect after its publication in the Official Gazette.
