Shkodër promising for a successful tourist season, Rozafa Castle and Historical Museum among top attractions, over 65,000 visitors in five months

TIRANA, June 15 – Shkodër is experiencing a promising start to the tourist season. The city reaffirms its position as one of the most popular destinations in northern Albania. Streets and squares host daily groups of foreign tourists. Weekends bring an even higher flow of visitors from different countries. They highlight the city’s atmosphere and its ability to combine nature, culture and history in a single destination.

Tourists described their experience positively. One visitor from Israel said they are enjoying Shkodër, praising its hospitality, calm atmosphere and nature. A tourist from Spain said it was her first visit to Albania and noted she plans to visit Rozafa Castle, museums and the lake. Another visitor from the Netherlands said the Historical Museum is particularly interesting, highlighting its archaeology and ethnography sections.

The Historical Museum of Shkodër remains one of the most visited sites. It offers a broad overview of the city’s past through authentic objects and ethnographic elements that reflect its identity.

Shkodër continues to attract visitors beyond the summer season. Its history, cultural heritage and museum network make it a year-round destination. The Archaeological Park of Shkodër, centered on Rozafa Castle, is among the most visited sites in Albania. It recorded more than 65,000 visitors in the first five months of the year.
