Shkodra Earns International Recognition for Sustainable Tourism

Shkodra has received the “Green Destinations Bronze Award”, recognizing the city’s efforts to promote sustainable and responsible tourism.

The international certification highlights Shkodra’s commitment to protecting its natural environment, cultural heritage and local communities while developing tourism.

The award adds Shkodra to a growing global network of destinations focused on sustainability. According to the municipality, Green Destinations includes more than 600 destinations across 60 countries.

From Lake Shkodra and the surrounding Alps to Shiroka, Zogaj, Theth and Velipojë, the city offers visitors a combination of nature, heritage and local traditions.

The certification could also strengthen Shkodra’s position on the international sustainable tourism map and attract more visitors interested in responsible travel.

With its diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage, Shkodra is increasingly presenting itself as a destination where tourism and environmental protection can grow together.
