Small and medium businesses to receive financing of up to ALL 250 million

TIRANA, July 17 – The Albanian government has launched the national program “Double Your Enterprise” to support small and medium-sized businesses through financing opportunities that aim to increase investment, employment and economic development.

At the program’s presentation, Bank of Albania Governor Gent Sejko said the institution had worked for a long time on designing the financing scheme. He added that the program provides more favorable conditions for businesses by extending loan terms up to 10 years and offering financing of up to ALL 250 million.

Meanwhile, Sejko said the initial value of the program reached 250 million euros and could increase if it successfully supports small and medium-sized enterprises. He described these businesses as a key pillar of the Albanian economy, with strong potential for job creation and growth.

The governor also encouraged businesses to apply, highlighting the program’s main advantages. He said interest rates would range from 2% to 3.5%, depending on the guarantee level. In addition, the government’s sovereign guarantee would cover 70% of the loans.

According to the Bank of Albania, the scheme aims to improve access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, which remain among the main drivers of economic activity and employment in the country.
