TIRANA, May 29 – Minister of State for Local Government Ervin Demo on Friday met a delegation from the Venice Commission during a visit to Tirana.
Meanwhile, Demo said in a social media post that the meeting focused on strengthening democratic standards, transparency and institutional accountability, describing these principles as essential for better governance at all levels, including local government.
In addition, he underlined that cooperation with international partners remains important to advance reforms that serve citizens and strengthen institutions.
The Venice Commission delegation is currently in Tirana. It is holding meetings with senior state officials and the opposition. The visit takes place as part of ongoing consultations on governance and democratic standards in the country.
