TIRANA, June 18 – Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Andis Salla shared the story of farmer Krenar Lashi from Kukës on social media. He said Lashi represents farmers who are increasing investment and production through agricultural policies and the National Support Scheme.
Meanwhile, Lashi has diversified his activity by combining fruit growing with livestock farming. The farmer cultivates 20 dynyms of land. He grows 5 dynyms of cherries, 5 dynyms of apples, 5 dynyms of grapes, and 5 dynyms of plums.
Since 2025, he has expanded into livestock production. The farm now includes 25 cows and 20 calves. Local dairies process the milk produced on the farm.
In addition, Lashi benefits from the National Support Scheme. He has applied again this year for subsidies through the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development. The farmer said the support helped reduce costs and increase production.
According to Salla, such examples show the direct impact of support measures on farmers. He said the scheme encourages investment, business expansion, and higher domestic output.
Finally, the minister described Lashi as an example of farmers who create value across the agricultural and livestock supply chain. He said their work helps strengthen Albanian products in the market.
