Summer Afternoon Draws Crowds of Tourists to Durrës

Durrës continues to attract local and foreign tourists, who enjoy the city’s beaches, seaside atmosphere, and cultural attractions.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of residents and visitors spending a summer afternoon in the city center and along the Taulantia Promenade, known as the Vollga area. The city recently transformed this waterfront space through a major urban redevelopment project.

In addition, Durrës offers a wide variety of sandy and rocky beaches, while hotels and agritourism businesses provide quality services for visitors throughout the season.

Crowded beaches, increasing bookings, and positive reviews from tourists indicate a strong summer season. Consequently, Durrës is heading toward one of its most successful tourism years in recent times.

Beyond its coastline, the city showcases a rich cultural and historical heritage. Visitors explore landmarks such as the Durrës Amphitheatre, the city’s castle walls, the Byzantine Market of Durrës, the Venetian Tower of Durrës, ancient Roman baths, the Arapaj Basilica, the Skanderbeg Fortification at Cape Rodon, and the Ishëm Castle.

Therefore, Durrës continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Albania’s top tourist destinations, offering visitors a combination of seaside leisure, history, and culture.
