Summer health centre in Castle-museum quarter serves tourists and residents in Berat

TIRANA, July 1 – The Ministry of Health and Social Protection reports that summer health centres continue to operate across Albania’s tourist areas. They provide medical services for holidaymakers without interruption.

The ministry highlights work at the summer health centre in the Kala museum quarter in Berat. Medical staff serve both tourists and residents of the historic area.

The centre treats minor emergencies. It also provides fast medical assistance when needed.

Foreign tourists report positive experiences during the current heat period. They describe the service as helpful and the staff as polite.

Authorities say seasonal health coverage has improved access to medical care for visitors. It also supports a safer tourism season nationwide.

They add that 36 health centres operate across the country during the summer season. These centres cover destinations from north to south.

Officials introduce two new 24/7 units this year. One serves religious tourism near the Church of St. Anthony in Laç. The other operates near the Elbasan thermal baths.

Authorities also open two additional centres near key cultural sites. These include Berat Castle and Gjirokastra Castle.
