TIRANA, August 28 – Kosova’s Donjeta Sadiku won the gold medal in boxing at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games after defeating Serbia’s Kristina Kuluhova in the final of the women’s up to 60 kg category. Sadiku dominated the bout and forced her opponent to stop in the second round.
The victory completed a successful tournament for Sadiku, who had defeated Greece’s Sofia Legaki in the semifinal. She secured gold after beating opponents from Greece and Serbia.
Speaking after the final, Sadiku said the bout had gone as planned and that she had prepared thoroughly. She said the gold medal had special significance and dedicated it to Kosova.
