Taulant Balla met EU rapporteur Andreas Schieder in Brussels to discuss Albania’s EU integration process and progress on reforms.

Balla said the EU report on Albania, which will be voted on in AFET on 5 May, recognizes the country’s achievements. He described the report as an important roadmap that evaluates Albania’s progress.

Moreover, he said the report encourages continued reform efforts and further alignment with EU legislation. He added that Albania’s progress contributes to stability and security in the region and beyond.

In addition, Balla said Albania has never been closer to achieving its long-standing goal of EU membership. He noted that there is a positive atmosphere in Brussels regarding enlargement.

Finally, he reaffirmed that Albania will respect all agreed deadlines with the European Commission and continue implementing reforms.
