TIRANA, August 25 – Term deposits in the Albanian Lek (ALL) continued their upward trend in June 2026. According to data from the Bank of Albania, they exceeded ALL 244 billion by mid-year, marking a 14.8% increase from the same period in 2025.
The growth rate accelerated from the end of 2025, when term deposits recorded an annual increase of 9.3%. Deposits in ALL have now increased for the third consecutive year.
The trend also appears linked to improved interest rates since 2024. The increase signals a gradual return of public interest in fixed-term bank savings after a prolonged period of decline.
