Time of Opposition Protest Revealed, Police Announce Road Closures

The opposition protest scheduled to take place on Friday in front of the Prime Minister’s Office will begin at 19:00. In connection with the protest, police have taken measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the nationwide demonstration.

According to the police announcement, vehicle parking will not be allowed until the end of the gathering along “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, from the area known as “Ura e Dajtit” to “Ismail Qemali” Street.

It is also reported that from 15:00 until the end of the protest, vehicle traffic will be blocked on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to “Mother Teresa” Square, as well as on “Ukraina e Lirë,” “Papa Gjon Pali II,” and “Ismail Qemali” streets.

“Depending on how the gathering develops, there may be traffic restrictions on other road axes as well. In case of blockages, the Tirana Police have taken measures to divert traffic through alternative routes.

The police urge citizens to avoid driving on the affected road segments in order not to hinder the free movement of participants in the protest. The Tirana Police also call on citizens to distance themselves if they encounter unlawful actions that may affect public order and safety,” the police stated.
