Tirana hosts Diaspora Summit on April 13, PM Rama highlights success stories

TIRANA, April 12 – Tirana will host the fourth edition of the Diaspora Summit on April 13, bringing together Albanians from across the world for a two-day program focused on cooperation and development.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said in his weekly podcast that the summit will open with a welcome ceremony. He said the event will place strong attention on personal stories of success, which he described as “stories of Albanian pride across the world”.

Rama said the diaspora now represents a concrete development force for Albania. He added that this year’s edition follows the community’s first participation in national elections, which he called a historic step.

He also said the summit aims to connect individuals and experiences into a wider network of cooperation. According to him, this network should generate value for the country through knowledge, investment, and engagement.

Rama stressed that the focus will remain on people and their contributions abroad. He also highlighted the inclusion of foreign partners who have supported or engaged with Albanian communities.

The Diaspora Summit is expected to feature panels, discussions, and presentations over several days in Tirana.
