TIRANA, July 31 – Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja visited the Tirana Mosaic archaeological site, where authorities presented a new digital space combining restoration, scientific research and digital technology.
The project transforms the Tirana Mosaic into a modern interpretation space where history meets new technologies. Digital tools will help visitors better understand and access the monument’s historical value.
The initiative includes 3 main innovations. The project features a 3D reconstruction of the Roman villa based on its original remains, interactive digital installations for visitors and the first use in Albania of gigapixel technology.
Gigapixel technology will document and digitally reconstruct the Tirana Mosaic and the Exonarthex Mosaic of the Bylis Cathedral.
Meanwhile, the restored site aims to become a contemporary model for cultural heritage interpretation. The project combines preservation, innovation and scientific research to bring heritage closer to the public.
