Tirana to host Ukraine ministerial in June, says Foreign Minister Hoxha

TIRANA, May 12 – Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

In a post on social media platform X, Hoxha said diplomacy does not remain limited to formal meeting rooms. He added that it also takes place in informal moments, including while waiting for the next flight toward the next engagement.

Meanwhile, Hoxha described the meeting as fruitful. He said the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in Ukraine. He also referred to ongoing efforts to end Russia’s war of aggression and broader European security issues.

In addition, Hoxha said Albania has stood firmly alongside Ukraine since the first day of the Russian aggression. He stressed that Albania will continue to support Ukraine with unwavering commitment in every possible way.

At the same time, the two ministers discussed their respective paths toward the European Union. Hoxha underlined the importance of maintaining momentum in the accession process for both countries.

Hoxha said the talks also covered bilateral relations and upcoming activities, including a ministerial meeting scheduled for June in Tirana. He added that the meeting reaffirmed close cooperation and a shared commitment to peace, security, and regional stability.
