TKOB Brings a Full Cultural Program in May, from “Carmen” to National Ensemble Shows

The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania presents a rich cultural program throughout May in Tirana.

The month opens with the ballet “Carmen,” staged from May 4 to May 10. The production features the return of Anbeta Toromani in the lead role, alongside Luca Curreli and Alessandro Macario.

After performances in Tirana, the ballet troupe travels to Teatro Comunale di Bologna for international shows.

Pianist Tedi Papavrami performs “24 Caprices of Paganini” on May 12 and 13.

The National Ensemble marks “Ensemble Day – Generation to Generation” with a special concert celebrating tradition and artistic continuity.

The month highlights the premiere of “Fundi i Golemëve,” with music by Nikolla Zoraqi and direction by Zhani Ciko and Nikolin Gurakuqi.

The program closes with a competition on May 28–29 involving 30 Tirana schools, the TKOB choir, and conductor Dritan Lumshi.
