“Tour of Albania 2026” Cycling Race: Police Publish Traffic Restriction Plan for 5 Days

The Albanian State Police has published the traffic management plan for the “Tour of Albania 2026,” an event that will take place on May 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22, 2026, across the territory of the Republic of Albania.

The 83rd Tour of Albania will be organized in cooperation with the Albanian Cycling Federation, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, the Albanian National Olympic Committee, and the respective municipalities. Cycling teams from Albania, the Balkan countries, and across Europe will participate in the event.

As the tour will pass through several of the country’s main roads and cities, the State Police has prepared a special operational plan involving local police structures, Traffic Police, and supporting units to ensure public order, road safety, and the escorting of cyclists throughout the entire route.

According to the Police, the stages and road closures will be as follows:

Stage I – May 18, 2026

Road closure time: 12:00 PM

Skanderbeg Square – “Zogu i Parë” Boulevard – “Dedë Gjo Luli” Street – “Myslym Shyri” Street – “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard – “Lekë Dukagjini” Street – “Ibrahim Rugova” Street – “Gjergj Fishta” Boulevard – Greater Ring Road – Tirana–TEG–Thumanë–Milot–Rrëshen–Reps highway – return to Milot – finish in Lezhë.

Stage II – May 19, 2026

Road closure time: 12:00 PM

Lezhë – Vorë – Golem – Rrogozhinë – finish in Elbasan.

Stage III – May 20, 2026

Road closure time: 12:00 PM

Elbasan – Belsh – Kuçovë – Lushnjë – Fier Ring Road – finish in Vlorë.

Stage IV – May 21, 2026

Road closure time: 12:00 PM

Vlorë – Llogara Tunnel – Himarë – Kuç – Lepincë – Kotë – finish in Vlorë.

Stage V – May 22, 2026

Road closure time: 10:00 AM

Vlorë – Lushnjë Roundabout – finish in Fier.

The State Police has called for citizens’ understanding and cooperation during the event and recommends the use of alternative routes in areas where temporary traffic restrictions will be in place.
