Tourism grows in Dropull as natural beauty and cultural heritage attract visitors

TIRANA, August 11 – Dropull and its surrounding areas are emerging as an increasingly attractive tourist destination in Gjirokastër Municipality. Local tourism officials report a steady rise in visitor numbers each year. Foreign tourists have visited sites including the Adrianople amphitheatre in Sofratika, the Church of Lower Peshkëpi and Sotir village, one of Albania’s 100 tourism villages. Other villages also draw visitors.

Meanwhile, cultural, artistic and promotional events have contributed to the increase in visitors. Dropull Municipality organises these activities to enliven community life and enrich the tourist experience. Tourism official Evi Pasko said cultural associations also organise fairs and festivals. These events bring together Dropull residents and attract foreign tourists.

The area combines natural landscapes, cultural monuments and traditions preserved across generations. Local residents also offer their characteristic hospitality. As a result, Dropull and its surrounding areas are gaining a stronger position on the tourism map of southern Albania.
