Albania continues to record growth in entries and exits across its territory during the month of April. According to data published by INSTAT, more than 1.4 million Albanian and foreign citizens entered the country in April 2026, marking an increase compared to the same period a year earlier.
The data show that entries and exits at border crossing points continue to be dominated by travelers moving for personal and tourism-related purposes, while the majority of foreign visitors come from Southern European countries.
According to INSTAT statistics, the upward trend in movement has continued throughout the first months of 2026. In March, around 1.28 million entries into Albania were recorded, representing an 11.7% increase compared to March of last year.
During February, more than 1.1 million entries and exits were also reported across the country’s territory, while in January, entries reached approximately 1.19 million people.
INSTAT highlights that the vast majority of foreign nationals entering Albania do so for personal purposes, tourism, or family visits, while arrivals from European countries continue to account for the largest share of the overall flow.
