Transparency Board lowers fuel prices, diesel drops to 197 ALL per litre

TIRANA, May 21 – The Transparency Board set new ceiling prices for fuel trading during its latest meeting. The new prices enter into force today at 13:00.
According to the decision, the retail price of SSH EN 590 diesel will not exceed 197 ALL per litre. Meanwhile, the wholesale price will not exceed 185 ALL per litre. The decision lowers the diesel price by 3 ALL per litre.

At the same time, the board set the retail ceiling price for gasoline at 186 ALL per litre. In addition, the wholesale price reaches 174 ALL per litre. Authorities said international market fluctuations and the exchange rate influenced the prices.

Officials said the new prices will remain in force until the next meeting. During that meeting, authorities will review prices according to market developments. Meanwhile, the board reminded all retail and wholesale operators to implement the decision.

In cases of violations, authorities warned they will suspend the activity of operators that fail to respect the established prices. Furthermore, the board said excise duty levels remain at 100% under Normative Act No. 1 of April 3, 2026. The board noted that diesel prices remain below the threshold of 220 ALL per litre. In parallel, gasoline prices remain below the threshold of 200 ALL per litre.

Finally, responsible institutions, including line ministries, continued their engagement to protect consumers and guarantee fair competition in the fuel market.
