Transparency Board Sets New Fuel Prices, Diesel and Gasoline Increase

The Transparency Board has decided to raise the fuel price caps in the country.

According to the decision taken during its meeting on June 2, 2026, the maximum retail price of diesel fuel must not exceed 191 lek per liter, an increase of 6 lek compared to the Board’s previous decision. The maximum wholesale price has been set at 179 lek per liter.

Meanwhile, for gasoline, the maximum retail price has been set at 176 lek per liter, 3 lek higher than the previous decision, while the maximum wholesale price has been fixed at 164 lek per liter.

As for fishing diesel, in accordance with the methodology currently in force and the exemptions from national taxes and excise duties, its price has been determined at 96 lek per liter.

The new prices entered into force on Tuesday, June 2, at 3:00 PM and will remain effective until the next decision of the Transparency Board.

Authorities have warned hydrocarbon market operators that compliance with the decision is mandatory. In cases of violations, measures will be taken, including the suspension of business activities.

The announcement also clarifies that, since the new prices remain below the thresholds established by Normative Act No. 1 of April 3, 2026, the excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel will continue to be applied at the full 100% rate.
