US President Donald Trump has thanked countries that, according to him, have committed to helping stabilize the Gaza Strip, including Albania and Kosovo.
In his statement, Trump said several countries had agreed to send troops and police forces and provide training as part of efforts to stabilize the situation in Gaza.
“I want to thank the countries that have committed to sending troops, police forces and providing training to help stabilize Gaza, including Indonesia, Morocco, Albania, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Jordan and others,” Trump said, according to the transcript of his speech published by un.org.
Trump also thanked the United Nations Security Council for what he described as unanimous support for the 20-point peace plan for Gaza and for the formal approval of the Board of Peace.
According to Trump, around 30 countries have joined the structure. He also said he was honored to lead it.
Meanwhile, the US president highlighted financial contributions to humanitarian aid and Gaza’s reconstruction. He specifically mentioned Morocco, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
“We are grateful to these member states that have contributed billions of dollars to humanitarian aid and reconstruction,” Trump said.
He added that other countries were also contributing at what he described as exceptional levels.
Finally, Trump said that since taking office, he had helped resolve eight wars and had become friends with the leaders of the countries involved.
