Two cruise ships dock in Durrës as Albania sees rising Mediterranean tourism interest

TIRANA, April 23 – The Port of Durrës received two cruise ships carrying foreign tourists as Albania continued to attract growing interest in Mediterranean cruise tourism. Around 150 passengers arrived aboard the vessels “Monet” and “La Belle de l’Adriatique”.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of the arrivals, describing the port as an important entry point for international visitors. He said the development reflects rising visibility for Albania on the Mediterranean tourism map.

During their stay, tourists are expected to visit key cultural and historical sites across the country. Destinations include the ancient city of Durrës, Kruja Castle and the UNESCO-listed historic centre of Berat.

Tourism activity linked to cruise arrivals has increased in recent years in Durrës. The trend has supported promotion of cultural heritage sites and contributed to the broader development of Albania’s tourism sector.
