The “Urban Renaissance 2.0” program, set to be presented in early July, will address issues in water supply and sewage systems.
Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the initiative during an event with local government leaders. Moreover, he described it as a large-scale program with strategic importance for communities across the country.
He said the program will launch publicly during a local government conference in the first ten days of July. In addition, he noted that institutions are preparing it in close dialogue with municipalities, under the supervision of the Minister of Local Governance.
Rama stressed that the program targets long-standing infrastructure gaps. In particular, it will address the remaining uninvested parts of water and sewage networks.
Furthermore, he said the initiative will deliver a full and integrated intervention. As a result, it will respond to missing segments in the national water infrastructure system.
