US Embassy Warns: Iran-Linked Groups Could Target Opposition in Albania

The US Embassy in Albania has warned that groups linked to Iran may target Americans or members of the Iranian opposition living in Albania. These groups could also strike public areas, including tourist sites, shopping centers, hotels, clubs, and restaurants, the embassy said in a social media statement.

The embassy urges American citizens to stay vigilant at all times. It recommends that visitors monitor local media for updates, remain aware of their surroundings, review personal security plans, and keep their mobile phones fully charged for emergencies.

“This advisory aims to help Americans protect themselves while in Albania,” the embassy emphasized, encouraging travelers to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines during their stay.
