TIRANA, August 11 – Velipoja Beach remains one of Albania’s most popular summer destinations. The beach stretches for more than 14 km and attracts large numbers of domestic and foreign visitors this season.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage of the Velipoja coastline on social media today. He highlighted the beach as one of the preferred destinations for holidaymakers during the summer season.
The expansion of public beaches has increased the number of tourists in Velipoja. Better management of the coastal area has also contributed to this growth.
Velipoja is known for its sand, which has curative properties. The beach extends for around 14 km and reaches about 300 metres in width. Located around 30 km from Shkoder, Velipoja combines the sea, forests, lagoons and mountains. This landscape offers a diverse setting for visitors.
In recent years, the area has also attracted investment in hotels and luxury homes. These developments have helped transform Velipoja into a modern holiday destination for tourists.
