The wildfire situation across the country remains problematic, although improvements have been reported in several affected areas over the past 24 hours. Of the 35 fires reported, five remain active, while three others are being kept under control.
A total of 382 operational personnel and 40 fire engines have been deployed to tackle the fires. They are being supported by 90 members of the Armed Forces and three Air Force helicopters.
The active fires are spread across several regions of the country.
In Dajti, Tirana, efforts to extinguish the fire are continuing with the support of 30 Armed Forces personnel. According to the authorities, there is currently no threat to residential areas, while the fire in Priska has been brought under control.
In Lufaj, Mirdita, the fire continues at low intensity, and teams on the ground are working to extinguish it. No homes are reported to be at risk in this area either.
The situation is more complicated in Tërbun, Gjegjan and Gojan in Puka. While conditions in the forested areas of Tërbun have improved, the fires in Gjegjan and Gojan remain active. One family was evacuated during the operation, while the intervention by emergency teams prevented the flames from spreading towards the home. The operation in this area is being supported by 40 Armed Forces personnel and two helicopters.
In Gjorm i Sipërm, Malësi e Madhe, the fire has reignited, and efforts are underway to contain it, involving two fire engines and six firefighters.
Operations to contain and extinguish the flames are also continuing in Tunjë e Re, Gramsh. According to official information, there is no threat to residential areas.
Meanwhile, the fire in Gurë-Lurë has been extinguished, and the area continues to be monitored. In Qafë Helmes, operational teams are continuing their intervention, while no homes are reported to be at risk there either.
