Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, has commemorated the 33rd anniversary of the Maastricht Treaty’s entry into force, highlighting Albania’s path toward integration into the European Union.
In a post on social media platform X, Hoxha described the treaty as a defining moment in the establishment of the European Union as we know it today.
The minister emphasized that Albania aims to take its place at the European table, contributing to decision-making and helping shape the continent’s future.
“On this day, 33 years ago, the Maastricht Treaty entered into force, marking a decisive step in the creation of the European Union as we know it today.
For Albania, this anniversary points us toward the future: toward the place we aspire to hold at the European table, sharing responsibilities, bringing our voice and contribution, and shaping the future of our continent together.
Our European identity has deep roots. Today, through domestic reforms and increasingly strong partnerships across Europe, we are gradually turning our European ambition into reality.
Our path is clear. Our future is European, and European only,” Minister Hoxha wrote on X.
