The European Union Ambassador to Kosovo, Dirk Schuebel, has congratulated the new President, Justina Shiroka-Pula, following her election to the post.
Schuebel extended his congratulations to Shiroka-Pula, stressing the importance of restoring political and institutional stability in Kosovo.
“With the hope of renewed political and institutional stability, I look forward to working with President Shiroka-Pula, Kosovo’s institutions and the broad political spectrum to bring the country closer to the European Union,” Schuebel said.
He stressed that the European Union’s support for Kosovo will remain unwavering.
Academy President Justina Shiroka-Pula was elected President of the Republic of Kosovo with 81 votes in favour in the first round of voting, during the parliamentary session that began on October 6.
The vote concluded three minutes after midnight, while the counting of votes was completed around 15 minutes after midnight.
