Health centres across the country have begun administering seasonal flu vaccinations. The vaccine is provided free of charge to all groups at risk of developing severe forms of the illness, as well as to those who are in constant contact with the public and are therefore at greater risk of contracting and spreading the virus.
In an interview with Euronews, Dorina Toçi, Director of the Institute of Public Health, said that the vaccination campaign has already begun, adding that around 280,000 doses have been distributed to health centres across the country.
The Institute of Public Health has identified one sporadic case of influenza in Albania. According to data from previous years, the flu season in the country begins in November and reaches its peak in late January and early February.
To ensure maximum protection, experts recommend getting vaccinated now.
The flu vaccine is trivalent, and vaccination can help prevent severe forms of the illness and save lives.
Flu vaccines are administered at health centres according to the schedule set by family doctors.
