High Justice Inspector Meets OSCE Ambassador: Focus on Cooperation to Strengthen the Justice System

High Justice Inspector Artur Metani welcomed the Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Michel Tarran, for a working meeting.

During the meeting, discussions focused on cooperation between the Office of the High Justice Inspector and the OSCE Presence in recent years, ongoing projects, as well as initiatives and projects planned for the future.

A significant part of the discussions was dedicated to recent developments in the justice system and matters related to the activities of the High Justice Inspector. In this context, the role of the High Justice Inspector in ensuring accountability within the judicial system was highlighted, including the handling of complaints and disciplinary proceedings against judges and prosecutors.

The meeting also addressed the importance of respecting due process, safeguarding the independence of the judiciary and prosecution service, and ensuring a stable and consistent approach to fulfilling institutional responsibilities.

High Justice Inspector Artur Metani and Ambassador Michel Tarran also exchanged views on developments related to the effective administration of justice and strengthening public trust in the justice system.

Both officials emphasized the need for and importance of institutional cooperation and continued support to strengthen accountability mechanisms and rule-of-law standards.
