Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Enea Karakaçi inspected the progress of construction works on the Kombinat–Ndroq–Plepa road project on Tuesday.
Karakaçi announced that construction work on Lot 1 has been completed. He added that work on the next 9 kilometers of the road will begin very soon. According to him, the road will not only improve traffic flow but also boost economic development throughout the area.
“We are taking all the necessary steps to complete the Kombinat–Plepa road. The first 5-kilometer section, which extends to Peza, has now been completed and officially handed over to the Albanian Road Authority.
The good news is that yesterday, the Albanian Road Authority finalized the contract for the construction of the next 9 kilometers. Another important development, given the significance of this road, is that funding has already been secured for the remaining 10-kilometer section leading to Plepa in Durrës.
The Albanian Road Authority is finalizing all the necessary documentation to launch the tendering procedure by mid-November.
This means that the entire Kombinat–Plepa road project is now fully funded. The contracts for the next 9 kilometers were signed yesterday by the Albanian Road Authority, while the remaining 10 kilometers leading to Durrës have also secured funding, and the tendering procedure will be launched by mid-November,” he said.
