Durrës has become a meeting point for screenwriters and filmmakers from across Europe, as Albania hosts the international Equinoxe script development programme for the first time.
The National Center of Cinematography said the programme has more than 30 years of experience in developing film scripts through professional guidance and collaboration with international industry experts.
This year, two Albanian projects have joined the programme. They were created by young directors Erenik Beqiri and Redi Treni, alongside other promising projects from across Europe.
Around 10 professional script consultants from different countries are working with the filmmakers to develop and improve their scripts. Their goal is to prepare the projects for future international film productions.
The programme also offers Albanian filmmakers an opportunity to build stronger ties with the European film industry. Through professional expertise and the exchange of experience, they can improve the artistic quality of their work.
According to the National Center of Cinematography, hosting Equinoxe in Albania marks another step towards opening the country’s film industry to international markets. It also creates new opportunities for professional training and international cooperation.
