Albania’s 2027 draft budget will double monthly pension bonuses from January 1, while increasing support for children with disabilities and families in need. Finance Minister Petrit Malaj presented the measures at the Conference of Chairpersons.
Pension indexing is scheduled for April 2027, with around ALL 1.35 billion allocated for the measure. Meanwhile, the doubled monthly bonuses will follow established categories, with a projected annual cost of ALL 20 billion.
The budget will also double payments for children with disabilities and recognise social and health insurance contributions for their caregivers. In addition, monthly support for babies will continue until they reach the age of five, with payments increasing progressively for first, second and third children.
Around ALL 1.3 billion a year will fund social services and affordable housing. Families with children under 18 will also continue to receive personal income tax compensation of up to ALL 48,000.
Malaj said the measures reflected the budget’s social priorities, with greater support for pensioners, families and people most in need.
