Lion King musical brings a new adventure to Tirana’s Puppet Theatre

The musical “The Lion King” will bring a colourful theatrical experience to children and families in Tirana this November and December.

Melsi Qirici, director of the National Centre of Culture for Children, has announced the performance dates. The show will take place on November 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29, with performances at 10:30 and 18:00.

The production will take audiences into the world of the African savannah. Giant puppets, music, colourful costumes and familiar characters will bring the story to life. Children will also have the chance to become part of this immersive adventure.

Qirici described the musical as one of the season’s most special cultural events. The production, supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, is the largest of its kind ever staged at the Puppet Theatre.

Organisers plan to present 20 performances throughout November and December. They aim to bring more young audiences closer to art and the magic of theatre.

Meanwhile, the National Centre of Culture for Children has prepared a special programme for Albania’s national celebrations. Talented young performers will take part in artistic shows, exhibitions and painting workshops. The programme will also feature a special collection of outfits designed by young students from the costume design course.
