Lezha begins construction of a new pedestrian zone

Construction has begun on a new pedestrian promenade in Lezha, a project worth ALL 62 million funded by the municipal budget. The development aims to create new recreational spaces for residents and tourists. The municipality expects to complete the project by next summer.

Deputy PM Albana Koçiu shared footage of the works on social media. She said the noise and turmoil of the past would not stop efforts to build Albania’s future. Koçiu described the promenade as a new investment that would welcome children, families and the thousands of tourists who visit the city each year.

The project includes green areas and modern recreational facilities. It aims to improve public spaces and encourage outdoor activities and social interaction across age groups. Meanwhile, Lezhë Municipality has planned further investment in infrastructure and public spaces in next year’s budget. These projects aim to improve urban infrastructure, expand green areas and enhance residents’ quality of life while supporting tourism.
