Government draft budget for 2027 prioritises infrastructure and energy projects

Infrastructure and Energy Minister Enea Karakaçi has announced that the government’s draft budget for 2027 provides full funding for priority infrastructure and energy projects. It includes investment in roads and water supply and sewerage systems across all 12 counties.

Key road projects include continued construction of the Elbasan bypass, completion of the Tirana–Durrës highway expansion and reconstruction of the southern road linking Tirana and Durrës via Kombinat, Ndroq and Plepa. Karakaçi said the 2027 allocations would accelerate work on these projects.

The draft allocates ALL 15 billion to water supply and sewerage infrastructure. The funding will support 14 water supply projects and 8 projects involving sewerage systems and wastewater treatment plants across all 12 counties.

Karakaçi described the 2027 draft budget as an instrument for economic development, better connections across the country and improved quality of life. He added that it would support modernisation and efforts to meet European Union membership standards.
