Prime Minister Edi Rama and the European Union Ambassador to Albania, Sofia Moreira de Sousa, held a joint press conference on Thursday, one day after the European Commission published its progress report on Albania.
During her remarks, the EU Ambassador said the report’s clear message was that Albania had made progress.
“Yesterday, the European Commission adopted its report on Albania, which I presented to the Prime Minister. Earlier, I also presented it to the President and Parliament, and subsequently to civil society.
The message of this report is simple: Albania has made progress. This reflects the genuine hard work of the negotiating team, but continuing along this path requires sustained efforts.
SPAK has demonstrated independence and delivered concrete results in the fight against corruption. These efforts must continue, and further work is needed to prevent corruption,” the Ambassador said.
